Home Description

A luxurious and tastefully decorated front, top floor apartment, overlooking the nature reserve of Lago di Piano. Situated in the magnificently renovated historical Villa Isella which dates back to the 1600's and is set in a beautiful landscaped hillside Park, with a swimming pool and its’ own chapel.

This exclusive apartment is luxuriously appointed with antique furniture and paintings, mixed with a fine blend of modern pieces required for today’s living. It is bright and sunny all day, having the benefit of windows to all directions.

The property, on the top floor, and accessed by a lift or stairs, offers sumptuous and luxurious accommodation. A living area with comfortable leather sofas, pellet fire, English Sky TV, DVD, and music centre. Three south facing windows with breathtaking views over the park/garden, pool, lake and mountains, French windows to the west balcony with stunning views to the Italian and Swiss mountains and Lake Lugano.

A dining area for 6 persons with a window to the east, overlooking the garden, Villa Isella's own chapel and the mountains around Lake Como. The fully fitted kitchen incorporates a dish washer, fridge/freezer, gas hob, double electric oven and grill. Everything you will need to dine well using the local produce.

Two delightful bedrooms, one accessed by stairs, with a huge sumptuous four-poster bed and the tastefully furnished twin bedded room is on the living floor level. The bathroom on the living floor level has a bath with an overhead shower and screen.

Full central heating and double glazed throughout.
The property has a washing machine and dryer.

In the private grounds of Villa Isella beside the pool, there is dining and seating area with a barbecue and the wonderful micro-climate here, with "delicious" temperatures in summer, encourage you to dine "al fresco." Enjoy fine local produce, cooked on the barbecue with excellent wines from the nearby Valtellina region, whilst by the pool. Stay casual and chill out with your children, enjoy the beautiful surroundings the villa has to offer. Spectacular scenery, on a warm summer evening, the smell of the barbecue food drifting in the air, a good bottle of wine (or two,) the sound of crickets in the background, (don't worry; they don't come near to you!) What more could you want, go on live the dream!! It could be all your for a week or two!

Location

Menaggio (Lago di Como) and Porlezza (Lago di Lugano) are just a few minutes away and both offer cafe bars, restaurants, ice cream parlors, supermarkets, banks and shops.

Explore Menaggio at your leisure, relax on the waterfront, sip cappuccini in Piazza Garibaldi, people watch, absorb the history and elegance.

The interesting market in Porlezza, along the shore of Lago di Lugano, is held on Saturday morning where you can purchase fresh local produce.

From the nearby port of Menaggio, you can take one of the many boat trips to Bellagio and Varenna or take the hydrofoil (rapido) ferry to the beautiful city of Como. Not only will you see the beautiful villages nestling amongst the mountains above the lake but you can stop at all the lakeside villages and pass Villa Balbianello along the way and within an hour you are in the delightful city of Como!

On Thursday, market day, there is plenty to see and you can wander the many interesting little streets filled with shops and enjoy the Italian cafe culture and fine Italian cuisine.

The border of Switzerland is only 15 minutes drive from Villa Isella and shopping in Switzerland's chic and elegant Lugano is well worth the visit, especially for chocolate lovers!

Skiing in the winter at Madesimo 1h 20mins drive. St. Moritz 1hr30mins drive. Bormio 2hrs drive away make “Bella Vista” an all year round holiday home. Very easy to be in the mountains and have a full day skiing with lunch in any of these resorts. Return to Villa Isella feeling refreshed and exhilarated!

The Carlazzo Area

Carlazzo is situated above Porlezza, with a view of both Lake Piano and Lake Lugano. The village itself has 2 mini supermarkets, butcher, bank, postoffice, coffee bar, all reachable on foot for those who do not want to shop in Porlezza.

Lake Como is a 20 minute drive away.

Pricing

1.220€ to 1.375€ per week. Includes bed linen, bathroom towels, gas, and electricity.

Additional 85€ for final clean.

A refundable 150€ for any unlikely damage/breakages or extra cleaning.

Arrival time, normally starting at 3pm onwards, however it may be possible to be flexible. Departure time, before 10am please.

Cot, High Chair and Pram available on request.
Pool towels available.

From October to April 50€ extra for central heating.

Please order pellets for the fire with your booking if required. One 15kg bag usually lasts all day and cost approx. 4/5€ per bag.

30% deposit required to confirm a booking with the balance payable 6 weeks before arrival date.
