Home Description

A spacious apartment (100 m2) on the ground floor with garden in front of the house facing south, furnished with table and deckchairs. At the back another garden with a barbecue, overlooking the small mountain and stream Liro.

" SANDRA " apartment can accommodate up to six people. One double bedroom and a bedroom with twin beds/double bed possible . A large living room with satellite TV, a sofa double and corner with two single beds. The open kitchen is equipped with fridge/freezer, cooker/oven, microwave and dishwasher. Bathroom with bathtub and washing machine. Garage for car

The lakeside is at 500 m., restaurants, supermarket and shops at 400 m.

The Lombardy Region

Residence Sandra is in the northern area of Lake Como in the region of Lombardy. Lake Como is one of the most popular lakes south of the Alps. The mountains for hiking in summer and skiing in winter, charming old villages, historical monuments and lovely gardens on the lake side in private villas now open to the public (Villa Carlotta, Villa Melzi .)

The largest town on the north -west coast is Como, with historical monuments, and wonderful shops for that special purchase of Italian fashion with weekly markets where you can find everything from designer shoes and bags to pots and pans.

The old Roman road passes through Cernobbio ( Villa d’Este), Menaggio ( golf course ) passes Isola Comacina ( the only island in the lake) l up to Gravedona and further into Switzerland and Austria.

Gravedona area

Gravedona was historically an important village, the palace Gallium, the baptismal church of S.Maria del Tiglio are testimony to its history . The area has a temperate climate in summer and pleasant temperatures in winter favoured by the warm “tramontana” wind descending from the Alps.

Being south of the Alps especially in winter there are many days of cloudless weather, whereas in summer thunderstorms, which last a few hours, refresh the air. For golfers at least 3 golf courses are nearby including the oldest course in Italy: Menaggio.

An excursion by ferry boat, crisscrossing the lake gives you a beautiful view on the private villas and parks. You can also criss-cross the lake by boat with regular services. In Gravedona there are plenty recreational activities and water sports.

How to get there

By car Through Switzerland Gotthard tunnel, Lugano, Italian border, Menaggio, Gravedona, Through Switzerland Splugen pass, Chiavenna, Gravedona.

The apartments are just 100 Km far from Milano Malpensa / Linate airport Budget flights with arrive at Milano or Bergamo airport .
