The cottage is available for rental from mid April to early November and is situated 7 minutes drive up the hill from Menaggio and 700 meters from the Menaggio and Cadenabbia Golf Course, the second oldest course in Italy, founded in 1907.

The Villetta Lugarna is a charming, cozy and comfortably furnished jewel of a cottage which sits on the hill above the hamlet of Croce directly above the town of Menaggio.

The current owner is the third generation of her family to own it. It is on the lane which leads to the famed Menaggio and Cadenabbia Golf Course, the second oldest in Italy, built in 1907. Ground floor: Living room, large kitchen, cloak room, utility room, hall. First floor level, master bedroom, second bedroom, large bathroom. Top floor has another large double bedroom with small ensuite bathroom.

There is a well maintained garden surrounding the cottage, and, across the garden, but totally separate, an annexe cottage, Il Fienile, which can be rented separately or together. The Villetta has a wonderful terrace with stunning views of the lake and mountains. It should be emphasized that whilst this is an extremely comfortable home from home type of cottage, IT WOULD NOT SUIT ANYONE WITH MOBILITY PROBLEMS, as the house is on three floors and there is a spiral staircase which connects all the floors. There is no lift.

Extremely comprehensive information is provided in the house with regard to restaurants, activities, contact numbers etc. This is absolutely a home from home and this is reflected in the price – it is absolutely not your average rental property. It would be ideal for three couples wishing to spend a week playing golf on the numerous wonderful courses in the area, or indeed for a family holiday.

How to get there

Fly BA or Easyjet to Milan Malpensa or Milan Linate, or fly Ryanair to Orio al Serio (Bergamo).

Activities near Croce, Menaggio

The area offers wonderful walking, golf and shopping in nearby Como, Lugano and Bellagio. St. Moritz is a 2 hour drive and Milan about one and a half hours away. There are several nice beaches down at the lakeside, a 25 metre swimming pool on the water at Menaggio and there is also a mountain torrent (the Fiume Senagara) with freezing rock pools to swim in. Tennis, golf, waterskiing, and much, much more.

Pricing

From 1500 Euro per week plus 100 Euro laundry and cleaning charge at departure.

Euro 500 refundable damage deposit.
